Freewheels are divided into three categories:

• overrunning clutches
• indexing clutches
• backstops

They can be roller (roller type) or hindrance (burst type), with or without integrated bearings.

Are available with inner diameters between 8 and 300 mm and can transmit torques up to 1,700,000 Nm.
